What to wear and how to prepare for your newborn session.

👗 What to Wear — For Parents

Keep it Timeless:

• Stick to neutral tones like white, cream, beige, soft grey, or pale pastels.

• Avoid logos, busy patterns, or bold colours — they can distract from your baby and won’t age as gracefully in your photos.

For Mum:

• Choose something soft, flowing, and comfortable — think dresses or loose blouses.

• Lace, knit textures, and layering photograph beautifully.

• Don’t stress about body changes — I pose you gently and use flattering angles and lighting to bring out your best.

• Hair and makeup: Consider soft waves or a simple bun. Natural makeup works best.

For Dad:

• A simple fitted t-shirt or button-up shirt in a neutral colour pairs perfectly with jeans or chinos.

• Avoid sneakers or flashy logos.

For Siblings:

• Soft dresses, rompers, or plain tops in muted tones are perfect.

• Barefoot is beautiful in the studio!

🧺 What to Bring

• Baby Essentials:

  • Nappies, wipes, bottles (if bottle feeding), dummy (even if baby doesn’t usually take one — it helps soothe between poses).

  • A favourite swaddle or wrap (optional — I have plenty too).

  • A change of clothes for baby and you, just in case.

• Feeding Prep:

  • Try to feed baby just before or right when you arrive — a full belly makes a sleepy baby!

  • If you're breastfeeding and need a quiet space, my studio is set up to make you feel relaxed and comfortable.

📸 What I Provide

• A full wardrobe of wraps, bonnets, headbands, and tiny outfits for your newborn

• Blankets, textures, and custom set styling

• Options for posed or more natural family images — or both!

💖 Final Tips

• Arrive relaxed. The studio is warm, quiet, and baby-led — we’ll go at your pace.

• Don’t worry about anything being “perfect.” Some of the most magical moments happen when you’re simply cuddling your baby.

• Trust the process. I’ve photographed hundreds of newborns and families — you’re in safe hands.
